Classic V4 - Firewall Exceptions
In most cases you will not need to make any changes. However if you are prompted by your Firewall, Antivirus or antimalware software you will need to allow or unblock BlueNote.
If you are having problems with BlueNote not being able to locate the System Manager, you will want to verify that you only have one entry of BlueNote Communicator in the exceptions list and that it is selected for all networks.
Open the Windows Firewall by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel (Settings in Windows 10). In the search box, type firewall, and then click Windows Firewall.
The Windows Firewall has been known to block programs even after the application has been allowed. If you continue to have problems, you will need to remove BlueNote from the allowed list and let Windows add it back automatically after restarting BlueNote. Restarting your PC may also be a good idea, but not typically needed.
In newer versions of BlueNote Communicator Classic, you can view specific instructions to create exceptions for BlueNote within each Endpoint and System Manager by choosing Menu > Help > Firewall information.
